Argolis Classical Tour - One Day
A Full Day tour to Ancient Mycenae, Epidaurus Theatre, Nafplion
Argolis region Peloponnese, crossing Corinth Canal.
We cross the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal separating Peloponnese from the Greek mainland. After a short stop at the Corinth Canal for a quick coffe and pictures, we continue our tour, driving to famous Mycenae, home of the King Agamemnon, leader of the Greeks to the Trojan war.
We visit the archeological site, including the Cyclopean Walls, the Royal Tombs of Atrides, the Lion’s Gate etc. After the visit at the site, we drive to Mycenae village to enjoy lunch.
We depart for picturesque Nafplion town, the first Capital of modern Greece, with it's Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortified islet of Bourtzi afloat in the middle of the bay. Short stop at Nafplion and then we drive to Epidauros.
In Epidauros we visit the Ancient theater of Epidauros, well-known for its excellent acoustics. The Theatre of Epidaurus is still used today for Theatre Festivals.
Leaving for Athens via the national coastal road.
Arriving back to Athens approx 18:30
